Our Technology

CEREC Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC Machine

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produces the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC CAD/CAM machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely, right in the office, with our computer milling unit. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full range of single-unit indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers. Click here to learn more about CEREC same-day dental crowns.

Cone Beam

Our Cone Beam X-Ray produces a 3D X-Ray. The panoramic view allows us to view the health of your teeth more accurately and with more detail all the way around a tooth, not just from the side. There are also several other advantages to the cone beam X-Ray technology compared to traditional X-rays:
•  Higher quality images
•  Images with less distortion
•  Cross sectional imaging
•  Less radiation than a full mouth x-ray set
•  Less time and more patient comfort
•  Greater accuracy for restorative procedures

The in depth look at the teeth, mouth, and jaw that Cone Beam X-rays provide our practice helps us detect early signs of dental issues. Early detection is a key to long term dental health and fewer lifetime dental visits.

Adding the Cone Beam system to our practice shows our commitment to providing the best, most comfortable dental treatment possible using the latest in dental technological advances.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems. Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problematic can save you money in the long run. Early detection can help prevent the need for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to detect:
•  Internal tooth decay
•  Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth)
•  Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous
•  Impacted teeth
•  Teeth that are still coming in

At Boones Landing Dental Center, we use digital x-rays, which have several advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from with traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Other Technologies

Large on-screen x-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Intra Oral Camera

Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also allows us to send and receive your images electronically, allowing for a faster consultation with your dentist.

Intra-Oral Camera

Intra Oral Camera Differs from X-Rays

X-rays give us a clear view of what we can't see such as decay between the teeth. An intra-oral camera gives the patient a view of what the dentist sees. An intra-oral camera is a device that is about the size of a toothbrush.

Broken fillings, fractured teeth, decay, or any other dental problem can be viewed so that we can discuss with you any treatment needed. With a clear understanding of your dental needs we can decide together what the best treatment is for you.
Environmentally Committed
Boones Landing Dental Center is committed to green dental practices

At Boones Landing Dental Center we are committed to doing our part for a clean and healthy environment.

We feature digital x-ray technology, which greatly reduces radiation emission and eliminates the need for printed x-rays.

Our amalgam separator ensures we are carefully disposing of the chemicals found in amalgam fillings.

Our office has gone chart-less, we keep digital records of our patients to reduce the amount of waste we produce and paper we use.

Give us a call today at (503) 601-0610 to discuss these and other ways we are striving to keep the earth green and beautiful for future generations.
