Using the right kind of toothpaste can help keep tobacco stains away. This means either using a baking soda toothpaste, or adding a touch of baking soda to the toothpaste you do use prior to brushing each time. Both of these methods have the ability to gently clean some of the stains off of your teeth, without doing damage to your teeth.

Coming in to our office for regularly cleanings at least every six months can also help prevent or remove tobacco stains. Depending on how much tobacco you use and how often, your stains may compile quickly or gradually. If they are gradual, then every six months is likely sufficient. However, if they compile quickly, you may need to come in more often to keep your mouth healthy and your smile bright.
