A lot of people do not floss right. They think they only need to do it once in a while, or that it is optional. The truth is, you need to floss regularly, and by regularly, we mean daily. This should be something you do at least once each and every day. You need to get between eat set of teeth you have and get the extra debris out of those gaps. If you forget and leave it there, you are going to struggle with a lot of unnecessary oral pain down the line. How to Floss the Right WayFor years, we thought that sawing floss back and forth was the best way to get the floss in the gaps and get the debris out. This has since been disproven. Now, we know that gently guiding your floss into the gaps is more effective, and then scraping down the surface of each tooth of that gap gets out far more debris. What you want is to go into each gap twice. That way, you can scrape down the surface of each tooth that makes up that gap. Leaving one gap unchecked leaves a lot of debris in your mouth. That debris is going to cause decay, and it is going to spread to other areas of your mouth. Flossing right only takes five to ten minutes out of your day. Getting the procedures needed to correct not flossing could take hours out of your life, plus it costs you lots of money to get the procedures done when you include lost time at work. Take the few minutes a day to prevent issues with your teeth down the line. The more you take the time to floss now, the healthier your teeth will be when you need it most. |
