Is it Possible to Get Braces as an Adult?No one is born perfect. We are all perfectly born far from it, in fact. This applies to our teeth. No one has perfect smiles or perfect teeth. While perfection is not something assigned at birth to anyone, that does not mean that the smile of your dreams is unattainable because of some age cutoff.

Braces For Adults


Over time our teeth become worn and life just happens. The use and development of our teeth from birth to adulthood can bring about attention to our smile in new ways. The organization of our teeth, or the general status of how comfortable we are with chewing or speaking and more is all included. When seeking straightening bites and smiles, many adults may become discouraged, but this should not be the case.

There is no deadline for when you should have braces. Rather, braces are for many age groups. The sole purpose of braces is to align the best smile possible by means of brackets and wires. These brackets and wires work by slowly adjusting teeth until they reach their ideal shape. We place the brackets on your teeth, and wire runs through the brackets, attempting to return to its original shape and gradually adjusting teeth with it. There is nothing exclusive about this process for children and adolescents. Better disciplined general patience actually makes for a good experience with braces, and adults tend to have more practice with developing patience.

We will determine the nature of which braces work best for you on a case by case basis. Still, it is refreshing and exciting to understand that dream smiles are attainable and available for many ages.
